MESSAGE SERIES: PRACTICING THE THINGS OF THE SPIRIT WITH Daddy-ken A. Bitere

KEY SCRIPTURE: 2TIMOTHY 1:9-11.

Every time the Gospel is being preached life is transmitted, The Gospel is life. Walking in the Spirit is a criterion for believer's effectiveness. God does not give information, He gives instruction. You don't walk with God based on how you feel, EPHESIANS 4:1-4. The things of the Spirit are beyond our feelings. Christianity is a calling, we are called to function as Christ, ROMANS 8:13-15. The born again experience gave you the ability to call God Father, JOHN 1:12.

The believer is a man of the Spirit not a man in the flesh.

Anytime you practice the things of Spirit you become perfect in it, GALATIANS 5:20-23. The believer does not struggle to love, or become joyful, nether does the believer struggle with being persistent. The reason is because they always have all these fruits in them, so practicing the things of Spirit activates these fruits of the Spirit that's already in you, EPHESIANS 5:1-4.

The believer must realize that they have the ability to love. Love is the believer's nature. To walk in the Spirit means you have to stay consistent with God's Word. You don't treat people the way you were treated, the Bible talks about it, that we should not pay evil for evil but rather pay evil with good. So, the believer is not a man that harbors bitterness, because bitterness or anger is a fruit of the flesh.

Many times, believers claim to be spiritual but avoid love. You cannot be spiritual and not practice love, 1JOHN 4:17. The way to know you really love God is how you treat those around you. The believer does not need to be told to love, that is the only way to explain Christ, JOHN 3:16.

Love is the way we explain salvation to the unchurched. Love is a test of the Spirit, ROMANS 5:1-8. God's love is not in segregations. Many people do activity, but fail in love test. Your inability to love denies the unchurched and other believer the accurate knowledge of God. It is more important to cultivate the fruit of love than to function in the gifts of the Spirit. Walking in love is a sign of growth and maturity. It is the stability of learning that brings growth. Nothing explains your growth level like when you begin to walk in Love.

Ministry is God's tool to keep the believer alive. Your relevance is your usefulness to God. The word Ministry is derived from the Greek word "DIAKONIA." it talks about service. You don't function by position, you function because you are called to serve, HEBREWS 6:10. So you function by service.
