WORD AND POWER SERVICE (SUN. 7TH AUGUST 2022).

MESSAGE SERIES: PRACTISING THE THINGS OF THE SPIRIT WITH Daddy-ken A. Bitere

KEY SCRIPTURE: 2TIMOTHY 3:14-17.

If you read through this scripture, one thing that drives you into perfection is continuation. The effectiveness of a man is the activeness in the things he does, so is the believer. It is possible to forget when you're not given to learning concerning the things of the Spirit, where people don't study well they are ashamed to teach others. The expression of what you know its your practice 2TIMOTHY 2:15. Every believer has been qualified to practise or engage in the things of the Spirit by the reason of their born again. The things of the Spirit were prophesied in the Old Testament by Joel (JOEL 2:28-30) but came to fulfillment in the New Testament in the book of ACTS 2:1-4.

In the last service we said we have been given the things of the Spirit, these include the gifts and fruit of the Spirit. It is important we differentiate between the gifts and fruit of the Spirit. In 1CORINTHIANS 12:1-12, the Scripture outlined the various gifts of the Spirit that are already in the believer such as gift of healing, speaking and interpretation of tongues, words of prophecy etc, whereas in GALATIANS 5:22 the Scripture outlined the fruit of the Spirit such as love, joy, patience, long-suffering etc.

Gift is for edification, the word edifying means to build, for profitablity, while fruit is to express the character of God that's in the believer.

Instruction is the power house for prosperity.

We walk in the Spirit by practising the things of the Spirit; GALATIANS 5:22-25.

In COLOSSIANS 4:17 we note the following;

1. To take heed (to heed mean to pay attention to.

2. To do ministry.

3. To fulfill the ministry we've been given.
